What happened to my book???

I was about 90% done with a book when Stage 5 ends, and now my book is just gone and I have to start all over? This makes no sense. Why would I just throw out the book?

It was a deliberate decision by the developer to (as I believe) not rope players into sub-optimal stories for the challenge parameters of that new round.

I agree though. Not being able to finish your books is intensely frustrating as the time spent on that book is entirely wasted. the only benefit you get is that any research you completed for your book in the previous round carries over to the next book you write.

What's worse is that if you're in a class it's aborted as well (and I think you lose the cash too).

A better solution would be to have the game ask you when a new challenge starts, "Would you like to continue your book in progress or scrap it?"
