DARK WOOD BUG (OR SOME OTHER ♥♥♥♥)

I was playing Darkwood and I decided to go underground into the village, until I found another exit that led to a house, I went into the hole again and simply was born in a place that I shouldn't have access to, and I can't get out of there. There is no point in leaving and entering because the game saved it. In short, I lost my save because of this and I was discouraged from playing because I was already very far into the game. Does anyone know anything I can do to fix this? I can no longer ask for a refund.

I think it's a known bug in the current version (1.4.2), I've noticed that it's been reported a lot already so it's probably getting looked at.

Are you using mac or windows version? (only reason I ask is because I haven't encountered this bug on the windows version yet so I'm wondering if the one thing that all the bug reports have in common is that they are all on the mac version)

I didn't know that the bug was being reported a lot, but anyway, I'm using the Windows version, and I discovered how you can fix it and not lose your entire save. If this happens to you, pray that you have a molotov, walk until you get stuck, and throw the molotov at your foot, thus dying and returning to your base.

Oh so it can happen on any version. I didn't experience it in any version prior to 1.4.2, so this must be a new thing (I'll try to recreate it in 1.4.2).

I haven't been able to recreate it (yet), but I have a theory.. I remember reading in the v1.4 patch notes that there was a change to the way the exits worked in the village underground ('-Fixed one of the passages inside the well under the village not being open')..

When you look at the layout of the cave system, technically there are 3 possible exits but in v1.3 I think only 2 of them ever functioned correctly (the 3rd was always closed and it would just alternate between exit 1 & 2)..

..you could always hear the mushrooms behind the walls of sealed exits and one of those alternative exits, the eastern one, was always closed off and never available in v1.3, it was always one of the northern exits that would spawn.

So maybe one of the changes in v1.4 was to fix the 3rd possible exit (the eastern passage) so it has a chance of spawning, and perhaps this change has created some other issue.

I have seen the 3rd possible exit spawn in some recent playtests, so it does work now in v1.4 and it hasn't caused me any problems yet, so I wonder what are the exact conditions that cause this bug to happen.

I've tried going in and out of every possible exit and tried going in and out of the well (because some players have reported that it happens when you go in and out of the well entrance to).
