Invincible chomper in chapter 2

I've run into a bug i believe as a chomper in chapter 2 village with this weird shadow armor is unkillable. He has bit of his armor left and that's it, no damage wears it off.

The armor wont burn away with lantern or flashlight? (light is the thing that wears it off rather than damage)

I didn't think about it considering i offed one just like that before without any source of light other than the sun.

It might have been near a light source, like a lamp or growth.

I'm quite sure i managed to take it's shadow armor off with a shovel hit as it happened in the swamps and not a specific location. It also looked like that too.
