"Chopin was a ♥♥♥♥♥♥ too, but he didn't lock people in a room." -Bob Dylan
Judging by his or her reactions, I don't believe they want help. :(
My theory is the bit that was causing confusion was that the 'unlock' icon still appears momentarily even when you dont have a key (the same way that the 'pick lock' icon appears even if you dont have a lock pick).
so as null winter said, its most likely a bug. he told you to check the bug report thread wich actually contains a lot of usefull information.
also, next time you encounter such a bug in the game, always first let steam verify the integrety of the game folders. if that doesnt work try reinstalling.
and if that doesnt work as around on the forum, but if you want help. then act like you want help, instead of qouting dumb lyrics from any overrated bob dylan song.
basicly said, you werent screwed. you screwed yourself.
and dont talk ♥♥♥♥ on devs that actually prefer people just to play their game and thus not making it overpriced while in my opinion they could have easily asked 40 bucks for this gem and still have my full support.
dont ♥♥♥♥ on the few devs that actually wanna make good games rather then being greedy asshats.
and a general life lesson to finish this ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ on your face, never ever ♥♥♥♥ on people who want to help you. only do that if you wanna end up alone with no one by your side .
edit: judging on the fact that your profile is set on private im gonna asume that you are just a sad and lonely troll
Just use the Xbox controller preset in the controller settings on steam and change the right analog to something that doesn't reset your aim (pretty much everything BUT mouselike joystick).
I'm assuming the you are using Keyboard settings on your controller and don't understand why most of buttons don't work.
My solution: Applied for a refund.
The door key in the prologue is meant to disappear into your journal inventory. It still works, even though you can't see it. The lockpick should act as normal, though.
