Remember that enemies can hop through open windows, open unbarricaded doors, nudge furniture about, and hear your footsteps. They also seem to be able to detect your presence through walls if they happen to nudge against it near where you are. You pretty much need to set up your Day One defenses when the sky is dark orange, drink from the well when it becomes available, and then man your post/camp hardcore in the corner.

There are a couple of guides of varying degrees of quality here in the forums if you need help or advice.

It may help to plan where you want to go the night before. "Okay, when I survive this night, I will head out [compass direction] to check out that chicken lady house that Wolf mentioned. I'll spend the day raiding all materials from it."
I didnt raid Chicken Lady's house... should i have? although i am 200% sure i dont wanna hit a chicken at least till i have like an epic weapon

All but one NPC type in the current game version is perfectly content to let you steal all of their stuff so long as you do not actually attack them. The NPC type that does get bothered by it will attack you anyways.
how much content is in this game atm? i hope its a decent amount because i really want to play this for a while

I find the swapped quotes and messages to be humorous. Any bystanders are going to have a difficult time figuring out who actually said what.

Well, I suppose that they could just pay attention to who has been using overly precise grammar and punctuation.

You can actually speed run the entire chapter in two in-game days once you know what you need to do to reach the end of Chapter One. There are even multiple paths for doing so. The story is not terribly long yet, but you are encouraged to explore the entirety of the randomized map or see the other branching paths.
