i havent finished the game yet but from what im seeing i dont really think theres a story set up for a darkwood 2

I've heard rumors devs plan on handling Darkwood IP if any game company will be interested. Cuz Acid Wizard (dev team of Darkwood) will quit entire games development after they release Darkwood 1.4.
So yea, it will be the end of the creators of this game but game itself might survive if different studio takes its IP.

Darkwood 2 makes very little sense cuz the true ending leaves game.. finished. For the most part.

Paid DLC wouldn't be done by Acid Wizard so it would be risky to mess around the 1st game itself.

Prequel on the other hand however - is an excellent idea to go back maybe not when everything started happening but just few years back so we see world changing and reaction of people and animals to it. The already developed twisted madness of the woods.

If it is part 2, DLC or prequel, we have high chances we would see Wolfman a lot and that's enough for me to want another game from this dark universe. The greatest comrade of all time. Despite his murderous amibtions.

the thing is we don't know how big the Trees event is, even see'n the true ending

this could be a world wide thing when you think about it there could be other huge tree hubs
or living trees, one can never know, but if someone did pick it up, that's an idea at lest

I'm cool with darkwood being the only entry, lot of the best horror games never got a sequel (eternal darkness). Was exorcist 2/3 really that memorable?
