how do you get out a bear trap

iv stepped in my trap. how do i get out, im using an xbox pad. i think iv spammed everything/button nothing works.. TIA

Try spamming left/right/left/right (basically joystick waggle). When you do this the icon in the top corner indicating that you are trapped will flash to show you that you are struggling to break free of it.. and eventually you will.

You always break free of traps regardless of whether you struggle or not.. the amount you struggle (i.e. the speed at which you spam the left/right inputs) determine how fast you break free (no inputs = slow to break free).

yea turns out that trap just must have been bugged or placed in such a way that when he got free it wouldnt let him or something and he would still be there struggling with it. set a few traps and stood in em all and yes just wiggle wiggle. cheers for reply though
