Loot Respawn
Will loot be able to respawn over time? I am do a run in which I only leave the safehouse to search for fuel and supplies.

On a side note, does the generator use fuel if no lights are turned on?

I would assume the generator uses fuel without lights on as it's running all the same whether the lights are on or not.

As for loot spawns, although I don't know, I hope so.

I'm basically playing the same way you are.

After I couldn't find the house the Violinist mentioned I gave up on the quest and just attempted to survive.

They don't respawn, which makes this game ridiculously hard at the moment. Limited resources only leads to inevitable death... Hope the devs make loots respawn...

I have to disagree with you R3D. It's a means of forcing you to advance. The alternative is letting you farm and stay in your house ad infinitum into stagnation, and then we'd get people making threads about how boring and unchallenging the game is. Gen does use fuel if no lights are on, but less. I recommend not using your gas for the gen though.

As for the Violinist, as far as I can tell the location for him, or if you showed the wolfman the photo, will always spawn in the deep woods, at the very edge of your map.
They're forcing a difficult confrontation that will atleast have you face to face with a wolf in the daytime.

i think respawning item could work like maybe after a week or something just so you can restock every so often

I'm hope that the Devs can add difficulty options for the game as a feature.

I also hope that eventually there will be a way to suck fuel out of other generators and put it into the safehouse's one.

The respawning of a few things could be a more a random chance, like the corpses you might accidently stumble upon, some other poor soul who didn't make it to safety would be alot more useful than having every box and chest to respawn.

Instead of loot respawn, it should be a bigger world with more stuff in it. Loot respawn is a terrible idea for a horror game.

It might be yeah, but the game already punishes you for being greedy.

After playing for several hours and surviving some days i am very sure that i experienced some sort of respawn mechanic for loot nodes, such as mushrooms or crates outside of buildings. It happened atleast twice that i found a crate near my base that wasnt there before. That plus the respawn of monsters would also explain that small loading between end of night and the morning.

Actually instead of respawning, about about loot spawns, (ie crates, barrels, corpses) disappearing and reappearing in the night or with certain land marks maybe moving in the night. Like an old brokendown cancer stricken(rusted up) truck
