Wolf's "bullet hole"?

I'm curious about one particular aspect of Wolf's dialogue design - a small hole in the jacket towards his left. Examining closer it looks like something dripped out of said hole.

I'm guessing he was shot before, but that only raises further questions. By whom? For what reason? Did it change Wolf into how he is at the beginning of the game?

Is there any information in the game that could give answers, or is it only speculation thus far?

It's on the left side of the chest, as if someone were aiming for the heart.
I don't think Wolfman was shot, I think he shot whoever previously owned that coat.

If you go to the hunters house, you can find a trophy of a wolf with the head missing, im guessing that the hunter killed the wolf with a bullet through the heart and hung his head on the wall.

or simply he killed the owner of the jacket with a heart shot and now wears the jacket of the hunter, and wheres the head from the broken wolf head mount as a mask, but thats just me ranting.

Well the woods appears to be supernatural considring that there are people that have been litterally torn in half, im guessing he was shot through the heart (The best spot to shoot a animal as a hunter) and his head was cut off and put on the mount as a trophy. it makes sense because the wolf requests you to drag the lynx back (Guessing thats the hunters most prized trophy and its a revenge sort of thing)

Wolfman has a tail. He's not just wearing a mask.

Do you think the bullet hole where his heart represents him being shot in the chest by the hunter? (before he became humanoid)

Perhaps he's a regular wolf walking on his hind legs and mimicking speak?
