NEED MODS
I REALLY want mods, I know about their stance and what they said on steam discussions... but maybe theyll have a change of heart? Mod support will make this game as fresh as the day it was released.

I've not tried any yet unfortunately, but I want to. I'll probably check out the overhaul once I've finished all my remaining vanilla saves.

this game needs definitely mods, if devs are not working on darkwood anymore. Why not let the community keep maintaining the game, if devs want to work on something else?

darkwood is very unique game and it can be made even more horror-like or rpg-like.

My current problem is, that I don't know where to put all my stuff. I cannot sell it for a specific currency or upgrade my hideout-storage ....

another great feature, which would make traps much more reasonable: during day time. creatures or people would come to your hideout and try to steal from you.

or you could use witcher-like mutagens to turn yourself into a werewolf or see in the dark .... so many great things. Darkwood provides a great platform and scenario for it.

I just looked into the nexusmods. these are not really mods by definition, but kind of reverse engineered / touched code. You can manipulate all games / software like this. Devs do not provide modding capabilities. I do not blame them. They already made a great game. But Darkwood can become even bigger.

Yes no matter what is released or added to DW it will always be a masterpiece of art. But the gameplay is also very strong, and with mods, updates or expansions they could add so much.

The game is already heavy for a horror game (i logged in over 60 hours before I got every achievement, and I played a lot of this game offline so I have no idea how much I actually logged). I've played horror games since RE2, and before that garbage like friday the 13th on nes. I remember actually getting a little edgy at the intro with the knife going through jasons mask lol, to bad the game was anything but.

But darkwood, I feel like this game should be more well known, expanded, enhanced, praised, spread around, critically acclaimed. The artist Artur Cordas is also one of the greatest horror artists of modern times. I think he's up there with HR Geiger, and Zdzislaw Beksinski (rip).
This game should be praised as one of the best horror games ever made. It combines zelda, metal gear solid, silent hill, resident evil, diablo1-2 and many more pure gaming classics. Its a masterpiece, its my fav game on steam, that I haven't played before on console or pc. Its that good.

I even like it more than the amnesia games which are probably my 2nd fav steam horror games. But DW just offers way more than a creepy atmosphere and story. It offers that, but with masterful gameplay on top of that.

I really don't know what acid wizard plans for the future of DW, perhaps they want to leave it as it is, or make a new game. I wish they would make something new, I love this game. I would gladly buy any acid wizard product cause of this game.

I downloaded a few of the nexus mods but I really can't figure out how to get this vortex thing to work, I should try installing a few and giving them a run.

you just manually download it ( you can select manual instead, but need to have an account on nexusmods ). Inside the zip-file is a readme, that tells you to overwrite existing game files. But before that make a backup.
