..therefore doing a different path wont present the opportunity to have 7 slots, but that's ok because the 7th slot is more of a luxury thing..
With 7, I think of it as 5 weapon slots with a slot for an armor & a slot for a lantern.. but 4 weapon slots (from 6 hotbar slots) still has room for everything.. like, melee/pistol/shotgun/throwable OR melee/gun/throwable/throwable..
..the standard 6 slots kind of makes it more of an interesting decision regarding what to leave out and what to swap in & out (depending on whether it is day or night).
7 slots does give nice options though, it makes it easier to keep things like flares always equipped and ready.
..also, sometimes it is worthwhile making sure your inventory is not full when interacting with NPC's that give rewards, because it helps ensure their gift transfers directly into your inventory instead of on the ground where it might get lost (or despawn)
