How often did you play or take to finish the game?
Did you play it over many sessions and take breaks of weeks or months or did you manage to get it done with regular play in 1-2 weeks?

Eyed the game for some time and just wondering how people played so I can plan when I should start.

Will you get stuck or bored and not finish in one play period (1-2 weeks) or do you get sucked in and want to keep playing every bit of spare time you have?

I got sucked in and finished it within 1-2 weeks. Sometimes i didn't know what to do but journal helps with that.

First playthrough - 41 in-game days. ( Day is 10 minutes, Night's 5, time freeze is a thing in certain locations )
2nd - 21 ( for achievs and other "ending" of chapter 2 )
Subsequent - 21 days for full exploration.
Game could be finished with one in-game day if you know what you're doing.

It has enough content in it to last you for awhile, and if you want, you could do challenge runs - which prolong it. I would heavily recommend against any mods, especially hardmode one - turns the game into a massive slog that you WILL get bored in.

Feel free to friend me if you need tips or directions/locations of stuff, for when you'll eventually be playing it.

I've been playing daily for 2 weeks now and have sunk in 33 hours of playtime so far. I play at a snail's pace since I am very careful/thorough and love to explore every nook and cranny. I'm still on my first playthrough, at (game) Day 38 in the Old Woods. I've done what I need to do to move on but there are still some parts of the map I'm not done with so I'm sticking around until I explore them.

I'm curious if there is anyone who has moved at a slower pace than me!

I'm about 11 hours in and feel I have a LONG way to go. It's on sale at the moment so you'll definitely be getting your money's worth.

I'm a little embarrassed to admit that I'd gotten to Chapter 2 and just Nopequit the game.

I really need to finish it. It's such a good horror game, and an amazing Survival game to boot.

I've hit Day 40 (in-game) and still in the Old Woods. I've searched like 90% of the map I think. I should be ready to move on but just taking my time.

One tip - if you play like me where you cautiously take your time, resources are not as big an issue as you think and the difficultly is not so bad. I have a ton of ammo for for all my guns and so many other resources that I've been selling it to the trader. I have 2K+ rep with him which grows because there really is a lot of items to discover (and sell) on the map. If you want to rip through the game ASAP, then yeah I think this game can be really hard and resources can be an issue. But if you slow down and savor the game, you can appreciate it more AND the game gets earier (IMHO)
Took 6 days to finish the first time I played with maybe 3-4 hours per day. If you really wanted to power through it you can pull it off in 10 hours definitely if you know what to do

The thing is you can run straight to the end of the game (in a few minutes), but obviously that is not 'completing' the game (in terms of what the game is intended to be).

I think in general players choose to play it like a survival game (or story game) and actually complete it, as in experience everything and survive it (over and over again) instead of trying to avoid as much of the gameplay as possible as if it were a speedrun.

I bought the game around 2014 / 2015 and didnt got out of the first area. Every year i remember the game and restart it but only once got out of the first area. And now 5 years later if finally finished it. Took me around 36 Hrs to complete. Best horror Game for me. I even bought the Art Book and got a Physical Copy by a bookmaker.
