The log processor can also hold a bunch of logs and planks until you want to move them indoors or use the planks for barricades.
The workbench doesn't hold enough. Even when I speed through the game, I end up having piles on the ground at some point or another. And that's with turning all logs into planks and storing all planks in the saw.
If I take my time, the workbench is the first thing to fill up with things I use regularly (ammo, pills, scrap, matches/bottles/rags). Then its medium caliber mags on the ground in the corner (because each one takes up a whole space in inventory), spare bear traps in the middle of the room (same thing, each take up a space), gasoline cans in the other corner (consilidated of course), useful crafting material overflow by the workbench, mats I probably won't use in the next room, etc and so forth.
It gets to be a bit ridiculous, but there's nothing else you can do at a certain point but throw things on the ground.
Plenty gets recycled to the three, but really with the abundance of resources there's no reason to sell most things....it's more profitable to just hoard. Mind you this is all on permadeath too.
Maybe I've just played too much....my logged hours don't touch my offline gameplay :)
if you have garbage in your inventory sell it, don't keep it, make sure of that, things like glass bottles acumulate alot, so i ususally throw them all over the floor in my hideout to kill bugs, i do cocktail molotovs, bandaids, and abuse my items, when i kill an enemy i only take stuff that i need, sticks i don't take nor glass bottles.
i sell mostly everything to, for ammo and stuff, i never once had problem with inventory space, maybe once when i was still new at the game and kept everything stalker style(you don't know what you need), but solved it quickly.
now i beaten the game 4-5 times, the 2 chapter only once, and trust me, the items are there to be abused,i kill a chomper, to far from the oven, i eat his meat, and go foward exploring with a buff, got a pill along the way, use it to explore further, bread?same thing,i see a flare? sell it,bug skeleton grab and make armor, but only grab enough skeletons, not a ton of them, and the list goes on.
