Need help with *spoiler* Purple poisonous floor monster
I'm on the hard difficulty and so far I've lost 3 of my 4 lives to this creature and I still don't understand how to kill it. I've gotten really good at locking myself in behind furniture, which desent leave me much space.
This thing just appears underneath me and starts killing draining my health instantly. Even with a antidote and the lamp heal perk going at the same time he still drains all my health. I'm guessing burning him would work but I'm dead so fast. I love the game so much and don't mind being killed by things if I can figure them out with time. This thing just appears underneath me. Any tips?

Have you tried leaving the room?

Keep moving.

Well I've locked myself in with furniture which was working really well for the first 20 days on hard. I've hoarded all the moveable furniture in one room but the muck monster appears underneath me almost without warning. Maybe it's just a balance thing to keep me from actually being safe.

It's to keep you from huddling in the same spot every night.

You did remember to light the oven where you are right? That sounds like floor gore, aka the monster that will kill you if you don't have night protection active.

Yeah ovens lit. Been in 2nd hideout 6 days now. It's not a floor gore. It took up 3/4 of the bathtub room I was setup in and just drained my health bar in about 10 sec. I'm guessing it's a balance thing. I honestly think my setup was too good if I never had to leave that room. I still don't know what kills it or makes it leave. I'm kinda using 2 rooms now just for this ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥. I'm gonna bait it to spawn underneath me then fall back to my original spot.

Woah, I never encountered this. Purple floor monster? Wat. Is this difficulty specific? Because I only finished the game on Normal. There's also the locked metal door from the swamp hideout that I missed and other things anyway.

So there's more content I believe for higher difficulties?

Worms? http://darkwood.wikia.com/wiki/Worms
Bugs: "In this event, the Huge Bugs will begin to spawn from holes in the floor and spread Worms into the hideout. Killing the bugs can prevent them from spawning worms but also may alert more dangerous enemies. This event will not occur in Hideout 1."

My difficulty is hard and its so awesome. I'm glad I skipped normal because having 4 lives adds sooo much tension its crazxy.

Nope they aren't worms. I've had to deal with them a few times. I encountered the poison blob thing again and It seems to stay attracted to one of my lamps. I'm not 100% though beacuse it spawned underneath me and I was close to the lamp. It just stayed there absorbing it or something till it went away. It lasted about 2ish in-game hours I think. Since I adjusted my tactics of using a little more space I've kept it from killing me. If it comes while other things are attacking me though, then I'm probably dead. Definitely there to keep you from having only 1 spot.

Yeah it's just the cousin to the Glare popping up and forcing you to move/look away.
It tends to pop up near where you're standing, or where you've spent alot of time idling, forcing you to move. It expands a bit but otherwise stays stationary. Just move to another spot.

Try using lanterns since its the only light making item that allows you to use a different weapon at the same time, (as for as I know). I personall DON'T board up ANY opening so it allows me to be ably to leave very fast. I run outside to avoid shadow, (they look like they are smoking and I believe the shadow effect can normally be taken away if put on fire or exposed to light not sure), but those shadow creatures I just run and avoid by going outside and I use pump shotgun or pistol with the reloadable clip, to kill if unavoidable, but I use an all upgraded axe to kill everything else. I run in a circle and after I hear the creature attack and miss, I go in for a hit and repeat, either eating bread or stamina pills to have stamina boast or I hold my weapon ready to swing which allows you to build up stamina, move, and be ready to swing all at the same time.
