Controller?
Just wondering how controller support is? It doesn't look like a game that would play well with a keyboard and mouse.

I just played a little with the k&m and had no issues nor do I want to test controller controls after my little gametime.

Hi, it has really good controller support. I tried keyboard/mouse and controller and preferred controller.

btw I just noticed there have been some issues with xbox controllers (which the devs are fixing). I didn't encounter any issues using logitech controller.

This is one of the few games that I prefer a keyboard and mouse on. It was originally designed for those, but the Wizards worked hard to implement a serviceable controller experience that many users seem to like.

Can you remap keys? Keyboard and or controller.

Absolutely. You get a lot of flexibility with your bindings.

Off-topic: That last sentence seems like an oxymoron...

I have a problem with a controller, I cant cycle items on my hotbar so I cant effectluvly switch items.

If up/down on the d-pad is not working that sounds like it could be a glitch that is specific to a particular controller type (it's worth stating which type you use if you need to file a bug report.. it might already be logged as one of the fixes they are working on).

What are your Steam Controller settings? I just started it up for a bit and realized I may have to remap a few things. Anything in particular you found useful?

Watching some walk through videos I noticed something that I can't seem to emulate with my Steam controller. When looting inventory, I can't seem to single click an item and have it pop into my inventory, the way I see it happen in the videos. Every time I have to click (RT) on an item, then drag it over to put it into a slot in my inventory. It's a royal pain in the ass. I wonder, are you not getting the same thing? What do you have set for this?

I've not used a steam controller before but I know this is possible when using a standard controller (like a PS or logitech controller), there's a button for 'take all' and a button for take a single item (and it automatically transfers stuff to inventory, no dragging, only toggling). I don't know the mapping on a steam controller but there must be a way to replicate this.

I guess a steam controller literally translates KB+M controls therefore there is still dragging and free cursor movement.

When I used KB+M (before controller support) I couldn't work out how to transfer items without dragging either. I once asked a streamer how they were able to 'quick loot' (using KB+M) and they said they were holding down shift (I tried this but it didn't work, perhaps it was a different key they was holding down .. thankfully controller support was added).

I dont know, maybe the function is shift related.. I'm assuming there is a way to emulate shift on steam controller? ..I'd defintely recommend using a normal gamepad/controller, it makes everything a lot easier and intuitive (twin stick movement/combat feels good, looting is fast).

have they fixed the run problem? For me (ps dualshock) there was almost no distinction on the analog stick between walking and running, depleting stamina unintentionally.

Hey MazyRun, it is shift related. I have run (Shift) mapped the Steam controller's Left Grip. When I use it in cunjunction with the trigger (LMB) it works as "auto-transfer". Thanks so much for the tip. It would be great to figure out the "take all" combination.

I'm just checking the in-game menu (I use the default mapping for Logitech controller). It seems I press 'reload' ('X') to 'take all' when in an inventory screen ('reload' acts as normal when not in an inventory screen).

To 'indivdually take items' I use the same button that opens the 'skill menu' ('A' is 'take single item' when in an inventory screen).

..so It's possible that pressing whatever your 'reload' key is (while you are in an inventory screen) will have the same 'take all' function for you to.

The only function I change is 'dodge', I set it to have no function at all (the default for 'dodge' is problematic because it is bound to one of the sticks, therefore it was causing me to sometimes accidentally press it whenever I would try to quickly move or turn during combat)
