Save Scumming

Before anyone says "git gud" I know this isn't the "ideal way" to play the game, but is there any way to revert to a previous save once I've died? I'm finding the game extremely atmospheric, but dying a lot leads to frustration, which is destroying my immersion.

If you use any keyboard or other PC command to force-close the game immediately after dying but before the game finishes saving, then you can reload to the previous save point before you died with any progress before the death lost.

Save games are located under
C:\Users\<Your User Name>\AppData\LocalLow\Acid Wizard Studio\Darkwood

It's probably hidden, so enable explorer to show all files and folders or type the path into explorer.

Alternatively search for Darkwood folder in c:.

I did not try it, but in theory it should work if you backup the profX folder and restore it when you died.

About the saving mechinc in this game, your game will save when : You use the kitchen, when you have a conversation with any NPC (Wolfman, Chicken, the Doc, the merchant etc this type of NPC) , when you enter a new area (Get into the village, get into Doc's hideout, get under the well Etc.). So you could uswwe these 3 things as your checkpoint. In daytime you want to save your game? Just run to the closest NPC or area and use them as checkpoint. Whenever you die just quickly Alt+F4 the game, then you will restart at the last checkpoint.

This method could be really useful to go through the Night.
Just touch the kitchen at about 7：00~7：55pm depends on how many time you want to spend on preparing the night. If you ♥♥♥♥♥♥ up, just Alt+F4 and you will be back at the checkpoint time again.
