So I just beat the game and I was wondering, is the wolf man a wolf that got super intelligent or a man that turned into a wolf like a werewolf or is there a whole species of wolf people?

It is assumed to be a mutation resulting from the mushrooms. However, what Wolfman was before that is still debated. Some say he was a dog named Burek in the scribbles and ate a mushroom. Some say he used to be the Hunter, but went mad and mutated while wearing a wolf head from a wolf he killed. There are multiple different interpretations, but almost everyone agrees that it resulted from a mutation involving the mushrooms.

I personally agree with the Burek theory.

Chicken Lady was talking about a lady who was knocked up with an abomination and had her house burned and the abomination was relocated or escaped into the woods.

Wolfman also had a gift for the Chicken Lady and seemed to know both her and her sister quite well.

I assumed Wolfman to be the abomination she spoke of.

Sorry guys but wolf man is a clone of hunter made by "blood of the being" it just happened that throphy on floor used to have wolf head and being couldn t tell if wolf head was part of hunter or not so it ended up mixing corpse of hunter and wolfs head making wolf man prove is simple hunter has weeding ring and so chicken lady and wolfe has incomplete copy made by the being as it was making copy of wolf man in short wolf man is twisted copy of hunter and if not sure if that was chicken lady who actually had second ring but i just remember it that way

it's a guy that got cloned, except the clone was merged with an item which gave him a wolf head. It's the same as the spaceman who visits you, his body got merged with the suit he was wearing.

i thought it was obvious that the hunter shot the wolf-like dog that ate the mushrooms and as usual took some part of it as their trophy. the being was recreating stuff while high on eldritch acid as usual and made a clone of the hunter with the mutated dog corpse.
