Report a translation problem
My only guess as to why the generator room might be better is if some of the monsters just b-line into the main building.
In the workbench room you only have one window and there is a place you hide and put lamps which can't be seen from the window, IMO it's a better place to stay.

If something you can't fight breaks through just run through the rest of the house. If you have glass to spare, spread it infront of the main door.
