giving away keys is part of the problem people who are "up and coming youtubers/streamers" ask for keys but just sell them instead, or so the rumors go
dont you know every gamer in russia is a streamer?
One could argue that someone pirating games on a functioning computer isn't in dire straits, either.
Guy gets sick, can't work for a few months or even years, or even just loses his job. He has all his assets but suddenely he can only just keep afloat thanks to insurance. It doesn't take much to own a PC especially for this game. Who knows, it comes down to the integrity of the player, there will always be cheapasses that just pirate anyway.
I doubt there are many cases of people legitimately benefitting from what they have done by making a torrent available, but it's a nice gesture and one that I respect.
But that isn't even the full reason Acid Wizard did it, they also wanted to undermine G2a and other key resellers. It's a pretty noble move. And honestly, if Acid Wizard manages to make a lot of profit off Darkwood anyway, that just proves that the internet isn't always the wretched pit of ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ is usually is.
and also the only reason i bought 2 copies of the game was becaouse the devs upload the game to torrent sites
you are in the extreme minority. and you've sufficiantly signaled your virtue to put your conscious to rest.
Accusing of virtue signalling while failing to grasp the point of the statement they made just proves that you're more interested in picking fights than in having a rational discussion.
steam featuring the game as it launched from early access did exponentially more for the acid wizards.
so good for you, you are in the extreme minority, and your public posting about how ethical you've been should let you sleep easy.
I'm not allowed to do anything about opinions unless they become overly aggressive personal attacks. :P
