How to see items you've found?

This is probably basic and I've totally missed it...

I don't mean the items in your inventory, I mean pictures etc that you've found? Because I had a letter with a code and I can't remember it, nor how to see it again. :|

there is the j button.

Open your journal (Default key is J), and go to the appropriate tab. Most keys, showing items, and universe padding items are stored there.
