Do you use stones as a combat weapon? I keep stockpiling them but ... they are useless right?

I don't. When I figured i could, enemies already became too powerful. You need them to upgrade certain weapons, i think shovel.

They deal truly pathetic damage; it takes four to kill one Dog.

They can be used to set off natural traps early or to detonate a charging Mushroom Man from outside the blast radius. They are also used in some upgrade recipes, as the above poster stated.

I was disappointed to see that they don't make a gas container explodes, I thought it was a nice way to trigger a trap away. Or should I throw 2 stones?

Actually, stones might be useful to aggro one enemy out of group, as they are your only way to deal damage on distance without making any noise (aside of knife, but knifes are much more rare than stones). But still I'd like them to have a little more range.

They can be used to lure enemies and set off traps (like mushrooms and corpses).

yeah stones are good until u get a knife and what i do is just keep 4 in stock for the sharpened upgrade and throw the otehrs at muchrooms
