Bright light and deafening noise during night

Not sure what kind of night event it is, but it starts out with being a quiet humming sound that gets higher and higher. You can see a bright light shining on the outside, casting shadows. I am in hideout 2. Havent had the guts to go out, but it persists through the night until morning. What is it?

Actually no there is a event where some bright flickering light appears outside like a projector malfunctioning. I got this 2 times on dry meadow i think.

Light can be a number of things. If it is a bright white light flickering it can be 1 of 2 things. It is either a harvestable mushroom spawning or it is a shining stone you can go out and pick up for trade.

It is not dawn approaching, it's a threatening sound. It continues to rise through the night. Unnerving as hell! I guess the light is the stone then, it's like you said, a flickering projector
