Good barter items?

I'm still on the first chapter (in the Silent Forest hideout). What are good items to trade with Wolfie or Trader? This is one of those games where I'm not sure which things to hold onto, lest it be a major game changer.

Well if you go to the brook you can find small and medium caliber magazines which sell for 50 and 100 rep. Planks with nails could he an option if you have a lot of wood, same with lanterns.

There's a lot of scrap metal laying about too. I made lots of Chain Traps (cheaper to make compared to Bear Traps). Those are about 20-25 Rep. Managed to upgrade the bench a few times getting what I needed from Wolf and the Trader.

If you are going for a no-leveling run, then most essence items can be safely sold off.

i literally sell everything I don't immediately need to the morning trader, this is becausee if I know i wont need it to craft something then it has no use... besides if i run out of something chances are I can buy more later from the trader. Currently I'm at the epilogue with over 2700 rep and a full workbench...

I sell all batteries and flashlights I find. I prefer to use lanterns. Matches are good to sell too they arent worth much but you find so many of them that for me it was always worth selling a ton of them.

never sell medium caliber magazines or small caliber magazines. Hoard them and never, ever trade them.

Sell bandages. Each bandage costs 30 repo, and requires 2 rags to craft (rags alone are sold 7 repo per item, so selling bandages is much more profitable). Rags are very common, and also are common loot from savages, so you can stock a lot.

@quakeguy 100% this. Can't tell you how many pistol clips I've burned through killing ♥♥♥♥ like chompers. So much easier to hit them from range than with a slow melee weapon like a shovel.

Make torches with alcohol, they sell for 50 rep each. Then use the empty bottles to make lanterns. 100 each. You're welcome :P

Make some bear trap and Lure some Elk into it once it stuck you can beat it to dead easily. it drop antler which sell for 100 Rep

I've been gathering bottles and rags to make lanterns with. They sell for 100 apiece. If I find alcohol, I'll use the alcohol in the bottle to make bandages with alcohol, then use the bottle for the lantern. Bandages with alcohol sell for 30 apiece by themselves. Boards with nails seems to be a good one to sell too, since you'll find a lot of wood and nails.

I should probably keep a lantern for myself, but I'm just 'tolerating' low vision for now.
