Hey Joe, mind sharing the optin prompt you had to use? I've had no success with the DEP disable prompt itself as well. Thanks!
CPU goes mad (over 50%).
Heeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeelp Meeeeeeeeeeeee Pleeeeeeeeeease!
Fixed it by getting shot of my codec pack in installing this one: http://www.xpcodecpack.com/dl/X-Codec-Pack-2.6.4.exe
1. Press Start in Windows, find "cmd" or "command prompt", press right mouse button and run as administrator.
2. type "bcdedit.exe /set {current} nx AlwaysOn" and enter. (AltGr B + N for {} brackets)
3. type "bcdedit.exe /set nx OptIn" and enter. (it's capital I like India)
4. Restart PC.
Now you can execute steps from original poster:
Steps to Solve:
Open Start Menu
Right-click Computer and select Properties
Open the "Advanced System Settings" on the left panel
Select the "Advanced" tab
Under the "Performance" heading, select Settings
Select the "Data Execution Prevention" tab
Select "Turn on DEP for all programs and services..."
Click the "Add..." button
Locate "Game.exe" in the steamapps folder
Click Apply, then Click Ok
And finally restart the PC.
Is the RGSS3 Error possible on Linux systems ? Because I have a similar problem (the game doesn't want to start).
And is someone know how to find the DEP Exception list on Ubuntu ? I couldn't find its location on the web.
Thanks.
