Any way to play as just 1 bro?
Kind of just want to mess around as the new bros, and its always annoying having to slog through the entire roster.

The only way is to play custom campaigns which is kind of lame. The devs should put this in as an unlockable after you beat the game.

I've been saying this forever, but unfortunately the devs don't have any plans to incorporate such a feature.

The best we can really hope for is, when the level editor becomes more intuitive, to recreate the entire campaign and simply force whatever Bros you want. Kinda clunky, but it's the best we're going to get, it seems.

bummer

If you were allowed to pick a single character, it would get old fast. I used to think that would be a good feature, but now I see how that could potentially ruin it for you. The fact that you have to constantly adapt your strategy makes it a bit more interesting. Part of this involves getting through those weak links in the team like Indiana Jones.

I absolutely agree with you but I'd like to hear your reasoning behing Indiana Jones. I personally think he's a bit OP. At the right distance his whip can do a ton of damage (more damage than almost any other primary weapon) and can be used to traverse a lot of places that would be otherwise impossible. His special cuts through everything and can go through two blocks of terrain per shot (which works especially well for beating the boss on level 27 (personal best just under 10 seconds with him). I get that every bro is an acquired taste, so which aspect specifically appeals to you the least? And which bro is your favorite?

Probably the fact that he can't damage terrain and it doesn't take enough hits. Still, I think Ripley needs an upgrade much more than he does.

I actually disagree that picking a single Bro would get old fast. Especially if you could pick more than one Bro to appear. I'd love to do a run as all the melee Bros, for example, or as only Cherry. Of course, that's all just a pipe dream.

Indy CAN damage terrain; he has a unique melee in the form of a pickaxe. He's actually fairly quick at it, too, and can even dig slightly under him. Honestly, I don't think there are many scenarios where he DOESN'T excel. That being said, he's one of those cases that really warrants a tip screen, because he's the ONLY person besides Neo with a unique melee attack.

I think Ellen's special could use a buff...But her primary is one of the most potent in the game. I like her.

I found Ripley's primary to be a bit unreliable. Sometimes it stuns, other times it's just a slow-firing AR. Better hope it's the former, otherwise you're probably dead.

I want to play certain guys, and have fun with their abilities for a while. The whole point is I haven't gotten enough time with them, I've already 'gotten' tired of the rest of the game because I've had to go through the entire campaign like three times to get almost enough time playing specific dudes.
Have to throw my hat in for being able to play as one Bro would be nice. As is, I find the secondaries to be a bit pointless? Lot of the time I don't really need to use their grenade/secondary ability at all so finding crates that restore it seems pretty useless. Heck I wouldn't mind it too much if the bros were spread out a bit more as well simply to give you more reason to use one bro to their full extent.

Thats the other thing...the difficulty of the one hit kill system is much less when you've got new abilities popping in, and sometimes the abilities of one guy are op w/e ez mode....but who cares? The games completeable in one fairly small sitting. Its not like you're taking anything away from being able to play as one guy, it just ads a new experience as the game changes and how you have to adapt with one ability set....but that potential is lost because....random factor.

What about just wanting the challenge of playing through the whole game as one character. Sure some would be OP but others would be an etremely interesting challenge. I would be very happy if I could beat the whole game using one of the melee characters on hard.

When they finally get achievements in I would go for trying to beat the game with each of the bros.

would be a cool option
Turd Fury Feb 21, 2015 @ 9:42pm
I think this should be encorperated as an option for all game types, i love me some deathmatch (get taht ♥♥♥♥ online already!!) and i do love the system it uses but i do feel like i would love to just pick one character and main it in pvp like a smash bros type game. then the game would be unbalanced though so there could be either tiers of characters or make deathmatch characters a bit different from the normal ones to balance them for pvp. I reallllllllly want more attention put into the deathmatch because it is easily the most fun i have even had with this game also would love to do a double bro seven playthrough just taking my time being stealthy and ♥♥♥♥.

I agree. Maybe after beating the game you could be able to play it through with one bro.
