The Bro with No Name
C'mon guys, you know you want it. Give him the Hat, Poncho, and squint. Make his normal attack a fast firing, 6-shot-burst revolver fire, make his unique either a bullet-reflectiong plate or rolling a huge wine barrel (Fist Full of Dollars). You know you like it.

Add the original Spaghetti Western hero too, the ronin from Yojimbo

Oh yes, of course. Brojimbo.

I like the idea of a Bro having to count his bullets for his regular attack, then having to reload :zero:

Eeeh, that seems to require too much concentration from a game like this.

Remove 'too' and you have yourself a nice high skill bro to play with. That's necessary not a bad thing for a game like this.

Yeah but the fact that you can't choose which Bro you play means that people that don't want to/have that kind of skill will suddenly have to work with it.

Sounds like me playing Brogyver in the beginning. But now i love him! :)

Well he just chucks bombs, it's a little fun gimmick. A character where you have to count your shots and manually reload sounds a tad out of place with all these other characters who can just spew 1-shot bullets with no sense of ammo preservation.

Somewhere in there lies a nice compromise, i bet. It would make a great and sophisticated new character.

Well what do you suggest? The best thing I can think of is the Sniper from Risk of Rain, where you get a special bonus if you reload at the right time.

A gears of war reload mechanic. That would be cool.

I was thinking about a short cooldown period after firing the six shooter in order to create the effect of reloading. I don't know, about 1.2 seconds or something.
So, holding the fire button fires the bullets at a normal rate. Then a short cooldown.
But being a revolver it can shoot as fast as you can pull the trigger.

An experienced player could count the bullets fired and adjust this tactics for engaging enemies.

Or you could play any of the other dozen and a half characters who can just carpet the room with bullets in a second.

they should add a steam exclusive character like the heavy or someone from halflife or portal.

I could see the scout being done, double jumping and shotgunning everything, Soldier is the Commando Arnold, Pyro is Mister T, Demo is basically McGyver, Heavy is Terminator Arnold, I find it kinda hard to imagine how the Engie would get worked into the game, Snake from EfNY is the sniper, don't need a Medic in this game, Spy would be kinda hard to shoohorn in, unless his grenade allows him to disguise as enemies and kill without fear of being noticed.
Half Life characters, maybe Alyx, Barney, the Combine and the Vortiguants, but how do you choose which weapons Gordon uses? (Not Crowbar, we have enough melees.)
And Portal, what can you do to fight? Drop turrets?
