The entire hell level is poorly designed
First of all, the length of it. Every level up to hell is bite sized at about 10 minutes in length. There's about 5 sub levels per level and each takes about 2 minutes to play through. I don't have the exact numbers, but those feel somewhat correct. This was perfect for me to play 1-2 levels and then take a break or do something.

Then I arrive in hell. I play for about 10 minutes with no end in sight. I play for another 10 minutes with no end in sight. It was already late when I started this level, but I don't want to quit and lose all my progress. After all I've never had any reason to quit mid level before so I know nothing about how the game saves, but I assume it only saves each level. I play for another 10 minutes, but I'm still not done, so I decide to just quit.

When I return I'm happy to see that the game did save mid level, but I still feel that this is poor design. Why not have 2-3-4 hell levels instead of just 1?

Also, chasing satan through what feels like a dozen generic levels all ending with a blue portal was my least favorite part of the game. Every sub level up until that point felt cleverly designed. This felt like filler.

Then there's the final satan fight itself which suddenly causes the game to zoom out and as a result of this the performance absolutely tanks. I play The Witcher 3, Battlefield 4 etc. on this machine in 60fps without any real issue, but the performance in this last boss fight was horrendous. I understand that you wanted the last fight to be special, but this part can't have gone through the QA department before you released it.

The entire hell level was in fact a bit jerky and under performant compared to the rest of the game. I guess there was a lot going on and quite a few experimental features like the blood pools which also seemed to impact performance quite a bit.

Lastly, the the difficulty of the last boss fight and the part where you run from the death field is different from everything else in the game. Suddenly it matters a great deal what bro you get. And because the bros are given out at random this makes these section very tedious. Some bros run or fly much much faster than others so I have to wait for those to be able to outrun the death field. And some of the bros deal out damage 5-10 times faster than the other bros making it essential for me to get these in the final fight. Forcing me to just die with the lackluster bros while I wait for a real attempt with one of the proper bros. Up until this point playing any of the weird, quirky bros was the most fun part of the game, but now it was just annoying getting these sub par bros. Again, I understand that you wanted this last bit to be epic, but I felt like i clashed quite a bit with what made the game fun for me up until that point. I would have balanced the bros a lot better if I intended for the game's difficulty to be like this.

Agreed on the choppiness of hell levels.

Disagree about gameplay, it's great.

There is a chopper section every time you continue campaign but you don't start from the beginning of the whole level, just map where you quit.

I too played in short bursts, one or two level per session and it took me two or three sessions for hell because it's a little longer than the rest. I didn't have to start from the beginning of the level every time I continued campaign.

yes it was pretty bad and boring.

The enemies are pretty weak , boss was boring

so boss 1 is just shoot down till no ground ,
boss 2 is just attack all the time same location and hide.

Pretty disappointing.

Worst in my opinion was the portals and this run away passage.
I didn't really liek the hell levels either. I just wanted to get back to worldmap so I could stop playing. But I couldn't!

In broforce the hell is really as the hell... I started ironbro campaign and reached the hell. I hoped that they didn't put this campaign in ironbro. At least they may start a new circle for giving bro, but NO! so... I reached 6th level in hell and died

I think it is entirely logical that all hell levels should take place in the U.S.A. and thus under the same mission. I love the forcefield and the last boss. And some of hell levels are on par with the rest of the game, but true some of them truly feel like fillers and are quite boring/annoying. Flying skulls, He-Man magicians who spawn explosives guys... not only make the game very hard and unfair, they also make it less fun.
But what are we whining about ? The game is awesome.

I'm on PS4 and just beat the game I had fun with the hell level. (I actually beat it on one sitting but I could've just pause it for a bit if I needed a break.) My only real gripe with this game that manly took place nerar the end of the Alien missions and all of Hell for PS4 was the frames absoulety tanked. I'm actually surprised the game was allowed to be put on PSN with how bad the frame rate gets. Another annoying issue I had was the boomers in hell were basically invisible. I would honestly give thise game 10/10 if they fixed these issues and updated the PS4 version to include the Lightning strikes twice and 7th of July update then all my dreams would come true.

PS4 isn't up to standard - very aware of the boomer issue too. We're still talking with the porting company about it all.

Also this thread is from 2015.

Also also lolling that OP thinks we have a QA department.
