Fixed camera in multiplayer?
Hi, is there any option which allows me to lock the camera to my character? It is indeed extremely annoying if you lose track of your character when there are a lot of explosions going on or your coop mate is faster/slower than you.

I haven't found anything in the options.
Is this planned to be added in the future or are there already exisiting programms/fixes which allow to center your own character at any time?

Nope
Am I the only one facing this problem? I was even thinking about a refund, that's how bad it actually was for me and my friends, I like the idea and the speed of the game, but this cannot be something which is intended?

The whole point is to work together and stick together. If you 2 can't do that then yeah, you will fall outside the screen and die. This is pretty standard for games like this.

This issue has been reported many times during Early Access days, yet for some reason developers actually actively opposed the idea, protecting the shared camera at all costs.
I only play single player for that reason. The game is still fantastic in solo anyway.
@Basenji: In my opinion the player should be the one to decide which camera position he prefers, its the same with the FOV in other games, people can get sick if they can't adjust it. Not every eye or habit of a person is the same. Actually it isn't this normal, since it is my first game with such a bad multiplayer camera! Trine, Terraria, Starbound, etc. have a perfectly fine camera, those games are different of course but in my friends' and my opinion a centered camera would be the best thing they can possible add to this game in the future.

Seriously they need a fixed camera, its awful without in co-op now that there's bosses like Satan and it just feels utterly grogardy not to have it.

They really should allow individual cameras. At least have a server setting for it. Sometimes I'm trying to save a dead partner and the other guy who is alive moves away from me and won't let me do that. It really just causes a ton of frustration, because the maps can be fairly big and players naturally might wanna go into different directions every now and then. At least allow the camera to zoom out further. Also most players don't work together in this game at all, they just rush and blow ♥♥♥♥ up and in most of the levels it's all you need to do to win. I really don't think it's beneficial to have the camera the way it is, it just gets me killed, because I can't see where I'm going and they could just have a little arrow on the screen pointing where your friends are.

This is exactly how me and my friends experienced it as well even when using Teamspeak. A player centered camera would be outstanding and change the game from being frustrating because of stuck or weird camera angles to an exact coordination where your character is at any time, it can't be that much effort to change it I claim.

I like this camera. Brings back memories to early nes/snes games. Was so fun playing contra, final fight, ice climber & river city ransom in co-op.

I agree about the online thing but that's mainly people being self centered. Very rarely do you hit a server where you split the caged-bros or work together. If you would have individual cameras a majority of the online would suck as everyone would rush to helicopter and just get on as quick as possible. That's my main problem, as soon as most people get to the chopper they jump on it. Even if people are just like 10s away. Like come on. I'm quite good at this game so I often end up first at the helicopter pad but I always try to wait for ALL bros...meaning that when the second bro comes up to the chopper he takes it and leaves...

I wish the devs could add so the helicopter wouldn't fly away until all alive bro's where on it.

Not sure if it has been mentioned but you can turn on the bubbles indicating which player is who so that it is always one, it should make finding yourself alot easier. Though it wil only say 1P, 2P etc. color coded.
The thing is I only play multiplayer with my friends so we don't really separate anyways but still after explosions and other stuff going on it's impossible to track the character all the time. The camera wouldn't be the way it is if there weren't any people who like it, but me my friends and lots or others obviously don't - I just don't see any reason why to not allow to center your character at least as an option.

The devs have made it pretty clear that they're not interested in such a camera, as they feel it discourages teamwork and encourages people to just run ahead and beat the level on their own. Personally, I'm not opposed to such a camera, especially since so many people would prefer to use it.

Couldn't disagree more, myself. That's one of the best parts of the multiplayer. There's no actual downside to missing the chopper, since everyone starts the next level with exactly 1 life anyway. So, it's purely for fun to see who can get to the chopper and who gets left behind.

I will say I think it's odd that the devs allow you to leave other Bros for dead, but things like teabagging Bro bodies was removed because...reasons?

So you would like it if I just rushed like hell and completed all the levels under 30s leaving everyone behind all the time? I think that is just plain disrespectful. You should feel the mood of the server and adjust accordingly. If a newer player has been struggling till the end and you just leaves when hes almost done...nope to me that is just not nice. At least in the campaign it's not an individual competition but a team effort to make it.

Why not add a mode with like scoreboard? (and maybe individual cameras for real competition mode)

I'd be pretty impressed, actually, given how long some of the Hell levels are.

Agreed. It'd be best as a server option.

Agreed with OP. I don't care about walking together because we (me and partner) have different play styles.
