Mac M1 Controller Not Working Mac OS Sonoma

Steam and macOS recognise that there is a controller connected and works in the OS and Steam Big Picture, but Broforce cannot see that my Xbox controller is connected.
Anyone else have this problem?
Anyone ever fixed this?

Keyboard and mouse have no effect on iMac M3, Sonoma 14.3.1. Cannot start game or move away from entry screen.

found on Reddit: find the Broforce installation, which is likely in your user folder's Library/Application Support/Steam/steamapps/common/Broforce/ path. Go to Saves/Options.xml, which is a text-file and search for vsync. turn that from "false" to "true" and start the app... keyboard input is now working. Under settings you may need to configure the controller settings anew but after that the controller is working, too.

For visibility, this has been solved on my M1 max MacBook pro as of 7/22/2024, the game is now running perfectly.

Game was working fine when installed for a couple weeks. let it sit for a week or so and now during arcade mode on Mac M1 running Ventura OS in 2 player mode the controls jump from P1 to P2 randomly. Started on level 21 and persists to the point I have given up trying to fix it. Have closed and restarted Steam, reloaded the controlers in settings both on Mac and in the game. controls are Innext (old but were working fine)

Just opened a new thread but I'll append it here too

I have both a PS5 and Xbox One controllers and none of them work with Broforce on MacOS Sonoma 14.5 (M1 Pro)

They work fine (both) on Windows

So, it's definitely not a controller issue :)

I have been told PS4 one work on M1 + Sonoma, but PS5 definitely don't

I have tried Steam Input but that doesn't work either

Also, the game always as me to press X or B, but in reality I have to press like T to get the thing to work (joining as new player)
It's like the UI shows me Xbox keybinds even when no controller is plugged

I`ve tried this, but didn`t work for me. Playing on a Macbook Air M3 Sequoia public beta.
