Subway/Rail connection building

Ok, so I have started to build a subway system and I want it to go to a rail to subway connection, does this building have to be adjacent to a railway line?

Or do I plop a train station next to it?

I’m just a tad befuddled how these have to be built, please can anyone assist.

You connect both train rail and subway line to the rail-to-subway station. No extra train station or subway station is needed, since that station already serves as both types.

If you wanted, you could even use the rail-to-subway in the place of a regular train station (without any subway) and save 3 tiles of space. As far as I know, they function exactly the same.

The Subway to Rail Connection literally is a Train Station, except better than the Train Station in every way, and also doubling as a Subway Station too, just not immediately available in Year 1900 as the Train Station is

I just need to place a rail track adjacent to the rail-subway for it to be working? I notice it is getting passengers. (I can’t seem to ‘physically’ connect a rail track to it like a can do with the subway at the underground level).

Correct, no different from the Train Station in both respects
