SimCity (2013) - Steam Version
Hey guys,

Any chance of bringing SimCity (2013) to Steam next?

I don't think so, SimCity 13 is connected with Origin (EA App).

I would love to have it on steam too.

The fact it's using EA App is not relevant : many EA games here still Launch EA App. It works great (except Battlefield 3  )

It was an interesting game. Not really a super good Sim City game but I don't see why EA won't chuck it on Steam for 5-15$.

While the appeal of managing city like a specialized district per region seems tempting, most people prefer they have that in one city in one sitting like CS did in their district planning system. The petty sized land you were given to build a city alone is underwhelming and not to mention how clunky the game engine was. If you were asked which Simcity franchise who will impress market the most, you can tell people would point out the one that has more freedom of creativity in it which is what SC 2013 lack.

That alone would discourage people to give it a try and make EA reconsider if its even worth it to release it on other launcher only to be flaked for the second time and face another round of backlash. No one stop them from trying though. :cleandino:

The Mac version is available in the Mac App Store so I doubt it's impossible to bring it to Steam

Though the question is, is it even worth it to bring it to Steam given the game's controversial history. Even after the always online requirement was removed and the Cities of Tomorrow expansion released, it wasn't enough to save the game as it was still loaded with problems. Power and water infrastructure gone, city limits too small, the simulation AI pretty dumb as citizens constantly got stuck in traffic. Plus we live in a time where we have Cities Skylines now.

Nice, but this is Steam.
