The Outfits store makes absolutely no *** **** sense.
Please explain to me how this makes any sense. Who in their right mind though it was a good idea to FOMO the living sh*t out of outfits? I just want Christmas Kaguyahime, but it turns out that she hasn't been available since 2021 outside of getting 3rd place in a popularity poll in mid 2022. WHY!?!?

It is genuinely just money they are throwing out the window. Players are always rotating in and out, did it never occur to them that someone could have started playing in 2024 and would have loved to get one of the older outfits? For what reason are they so limited?

EDIT (Jan 12 2025): I don't know what I said before, I can't be bothered to read it, but I have moved on, I no longer play the game. You guys can continue discussing this if you want.

Simple reason: to trigger FOMO. The fact that lots of cosmetics are unavailable shows that when something you like shows up, you HAVE to fork lots of money and get it before it goes away forever. It's all psychological but works great for the devs. I can't imagine how much they earn on the final day of an event.

What do you mean "Welcome to gacha game"? This has nothing to do with gacha, it is just plain Fomo every genre nowadays use. Fomo is just a c*ncer that needs to end that is not exclusive to gacha games.

All this has done is teaching me that I should never spend money on games with Fomo, which also means I won't give these schmucks any more money either. Thank god I barely spent any. 20 bucks maybe.

I would have spent way more if I could buy the things I wanted. It's not worth investing anything knowing I can never get their outfits. Just pointless.

And you know what's worse? Sunken cost fallacy. Those people who spent hundreds or thousands in the game now find themselves unable to quit. They can't justify leaving after spending so much; and because they now play the game non-stop, they end up spending more and perpetuating the situation.

Sure the cosmetics are very enticing, but it's all bells and whistles. Staying f2p is the true way.

I honestly don't get spending money on pointless things like skins in games. I mean, I love that people do it because I can enjoy some really fun games for free haha

unfortunately the outfit store is setup for the whales, not for folks that don't fall into that hole

Yes, its just a pointless skin of a mahjong game XD but if that 20$ skin can make you happy for just like few weeks then its worth.

Yea, and if anything, being able to buy the outfit I want makes me more likely to buy more outfits after, because right now all I want is that Christmas outfit for Kaguyahime, nothing else matters to me until I get that one. Other than maybe other Kaguyahime outfits, but those are also no longer available, haha... yea, so nothing else matters to me right now.
All pulls are cosmetic :TEKKEN8_Joystick6: Most people only get one character they like and then stop bothering with the store :TEKKEN8_Joystick6: devs rely even harder on whales to keep the lights on.

Ok, that changes nothing. If anything they prevented me from whaling on all of Kaguyahime's outfits because they decided they didn't want my money. And if they did want my money, if they can't provide me something I want, why should I provide them what they want?

What they thought me is that all the outfits I wanted for all the characters I wanted are no longer available, and likely never will be, so why should I bother getting any characters. Because they didn't let me get invested into the game and get attached to it, they lost me as a player and a customer.

Yeah, that's why you're raging about this for a month ... because you totally moved on.

To be honest with you, I forgot about this entire discussion, the only reason I said anything now was because I got a notification, and I for whatever reason felt compelled to respond.

Also, I am not raging about it (at least not in my recent post, I don't remember what I said previously, nor am I gonna bother looking), I am laying down my criticism. I haven't touched the game in weeks, but I want the game to improve however it can, I want all games to improve however they can.

I believe FOMO to be the single worst form of monetization strategy to ever have been come up with. I can tolerate limited time collabs never coming back because it makes logical real world sense that they don't, but not when you own the IP. I'd understand if certain things are only sold during a holiday or event, but for that stuff to never return? What logic is that? You're only taking into consideration your already existing players, not the new players who never even had the opportunity.

I was ready with my money to buy an outfit I was looking forward to as a new player, only to find out I never even had a chance to begin with. If they want money so much (and I hate to say it), why not put these older outfits in the gacha at least? Give people a chance, even if they have to whale for it... but I'll unsubscribe from this discussion now and move on. I have said enough.
