DLC Issues

I know you have to do download and install it directly to your DLC folder. But it's just not adding the DLC to my game for some reason?

You need to download the file dlc_00.zip from the game developer's site and put it in the folder steamapps\common\Mad Island\Mad Island_Data\StreamingAssets\DLC and everything should work. It works for me. You can check if the DLC is activated on the title screen of the game by pressing Options, and above the window with options will be written dlc00_v1.

even if you do exactly that, the dlc will not work, because of some issue on their side. The dlc_00.zip cannot be opened at all

You're not supposed to open it. It's not actually a .zip file.

rename your file by removing the ".zip" part , its not meant to be extracted.
