Some questions about structures and speed stat.

Hey guys, new to the game and been having a good time exploring and stuff, but I have a few things I want to find out before spending my hard earn skill points on my character.

Does the construction skill unlock new structures? Or can I only do so by fighting bosses and acquiring manuals?

Also what is the wall with the best durability and how do I obtain it? I'm currently only able to make ironstone walls, which seem to hold up pretty well against raids that I'm getting (Around lv20), but I'm worried that it may not be strong enough after the raids get stronger as I level up.

Lastly, what does the speed skill do exactly? I know it increases movement speed by a little, but does it also effect attack speed or attack animation recovery? Do you guys think it's worth it at all?

1. construction skills extend the range of interactions, meaning you can interact and place things from far away.
2. Tables and barrels, they didn't have durability so enemies will not try to attack them, yet they still have collations box to keep off enemies.
3. Yes, but it's more useful in late game because it will affect heavy attacks speed later on.

Each construction level increases the radius of your building range. LvL 2 is a fantastic sweet spot. However it will not provide you with manuals; You will collect all building recipes by killing bosses or chests sitting on the over-world.

Ironstone is the best wall. If it makes you feel any better, I'm using iron walls against level 600 raiders. One swing deals 1000+ damage, but if it holds it holds.

The speed stat does indeed effect all of those things. Male swings almost instantly while Yona takes nearly half a second... This is Speed 3.19 VS. Speed 1.72. It becomes especially relevant with Smash LvL 4, which you can read from your character's status window.

Subjective take, I think speed stat is the best thing in the game and will exponentially catapult you to greater strengths... if you know what you're doing. If you're playing blind or take more than 1 hit in a skirmish then you should absolutely invest in Attack and HP initially while investing into speed as you begin to feel the other two aren't helping you as much.

I think speed and strength are more important in the later stages. I have tried to increase my health, but I still cannot withstand too many attacks in the later stages. Perhaps I need to equip a shield? But speed allows you to lead monsters back and forth during an attack, and as for attack speed, it seems to have nothing to do with speed

Thanks guys, I didn't know barrels and tables can do that, good to know. But for the sake of immersion, I think I'll stick with ironstone walls lol.

BTW, would it be too adventurous to go recruit the Female giant at 80 health and 15 strength w/ Iron sword? I'm tempted but I'm sure I'll die horribly.

I defeated most bosses with an iron sword base stats ( i didn't know you could lvl up) it is possible just think of it like dark souls, just make sure you bring repair kits and a shield. after i just maxed heavy attack and strength and speed.
