What's with the big sakura tree?
Directly north of the tribal leader boss fight is a nice hill with a large sakura tree, i figured it'd be a perfect place to build a base but the game refuses and tells you "buildings are too close" i'm assuming there'll either be NPCs or a Boss fight there eventually but nothing in the discussions tab seems to... discuss it, or even mention it, so far.

I've since moved to the hill to the east of it but i am still curious what's with this thing and why can't we build at such a perfect location.

I think any location with structures like native settlements will give you that message.

As for the tree, I don't think the devs have done anything with it yet.

The tree isn't the perfect location. The perfect location is a little bit to the east of the tree, there is a ramp (natural bottleneck for enemies) that goes to a nearly perfectly rectangular plateau. Singe entrance, central location, enough space for farming and gathering, and at least 12 or so villagers.

That's where i'm at currently but i'd have preferred the tree hill because of its alignment to the camera since often at the other hill building sprites(Esp wood and stone houses) on the hill will block the view of the things down the ramp. It is definitely more defendable though.

if it block then they might have plan for it
atm just part of the scenery

probably a planned boss or something to use with it for crafting

would like sakura / pink theme'd furniture / items or a more traditional japanese theme'd furniture / items that would require the sakura tree in some way.
