grab a few sticks and stone --> axe --> cut wood --> workbench --> craft the rope with fiber ( from smal trees) and craft the spear.
> Put all your early points in damage. +1 per level. to earn xp keep recolting things on your path.
> Always try to 1V1. trigger their attack by getting in range, run in their back, hit 2-3 times, cancel next attack with right clic to be able to dodge again and not be stuck in your attack animation when they can retaliate. Rince and repeat. If they team up on you, try to group them, and trigger all their attacks at once, so you can still retaliate on one of them without getting mauled by the others.
> Shields reduce incoming damage by XX% (depending on material) when you block, can be usefull too.
> When you are able to properlly kill natives, don't hesitate to go to their villages to hunt a few of them, they gives way more XP than collecting things.
> Skill points are differents from stat point, so don't hesitate to spend points in skills, it won't stops you from putting points in stats. Skill are also shared between main characters, unlike stats & lvl
> The more North you go, the more powerfull natives & new ennemy types will be and the more XP they will grant if you defeat them. They also drop XP fruits from time to time. You can either eat them or gives them to the main character you use less, or even to friendly NPCs
if you are on the other side, if you F key to smash attack or use the space bar to attack while facing the NPCs, you can reach them, but clicking on them or E will just make you run against the spikes and your character won't hit them. Remember they can be built and moved at anytime, just in case.
The other thing is stairs. Wooden stairs made in the work bench can be clicked on and give a USE option. You can make them vary size in height, width, and depth and they can be used to help you get in and out of a circle of wood spike barricades (among other cool things like climbable towers) if you want to fully surround an area. NPCs aren't smart enough to use the stairs very well though, so when you start making parties watch out your peeps don't get caught outside during raids, or that they teleport to you with enough distance between you and them.
