In range is defined as an overlapping of territory i.e, the blue circles.
If Hana is far away from the food box, but her territory is extended so that her blue territory is intersected with a food bin's blue circle and a water well's blue circle, all of her needs will be met.
You can check the respective territories by clicking on them.
This also extends to NPC interactions and is useful for managing relationships, but I digress.
Welp, that is quite nice info there, so bases can actually be quite large with only one food box and one well in the middle i guess, since, if i understood correctly as long as you get a fraction of the buildings blue circle in any NPC own territory, they'll get what they need.
Not like well / food boxes were hard to get and keeping them full is quite easy once you have some dedicated workers spamming food for you, but still nice to know.
Thanks a bunch
And since villager-operated mines hardly produce any iron (unless I'm missing something, out of 10 work shifts, they produce 1 raw iron), you'll need to run anround a mine and mine iron yourself.
