How do I feed and be friends with a Female Native?
So I already made a wood cage those with 2 slots I guess the first one is for the native and the other one is to feed her, but when I feed her dragging the berries or the cooked meat into her slot I end up feeding my character, also when I drag food to her inventory, she just lies down on the ground because of the after r4pe animation, is there a bug? something Im missing? theres no usefull info about these anywhere I think, everyone seems to know about feeding natives to make them usefull npcs but I dont get how they do that, also the food box doesnt seem to work, it feeds my character instead, can someone pro at the game help me step by step?

i also have problems to drag food, i have a work around to select a none food item, drag it on the food and click. and only then i have the found in hand.

it could be she is in her "wait" pose. I can't let them work either...

to 'tame' a native you must knock it out then place it on a cage with food, hovering over the native while its on your inventory shows you their preferred foods. (Higher number = faster 'taming')
after placing them in the cage with food it will take a while to 'tame' them, they will slowly eat the food and gain affinity towards you (their current affinity will show over their icon on the cage's inventory, starting at 0 and ending at max), this will take a while so I recommend doing something else while you wait or you can build a wood bed on the wood workshop and span sleep to fast forward time.
The reason they are dropping to the floor when you place them is because they are not tamed yet and are still considered defeated, once they are tamed and their icon has 'MAX' on it, you can right click them while they are on your inventory as if you were placing a building, this will spawn them in as a friendly npc.
Now that they are 'tame' you can talk to them and even put them to work (if you have the necessary facilities, for more info you can hover over the work options in their status menu and it will show what jobs need what facility.) and last but definitely not least to increase their relation with you so you can romance them you will need to have them follow you, it seems that if they follow you they will passively gain relationship with you over time, I once had my relationship increase by talking to them but that might've been a coincidence, there is also an item called a love potion that gives them 50 relationship if you make them drink it but im not sure how to get that potion.

Hope this all helps, i don't know why they don't tell you any of this, made it really hard to learn since i had to figure this all out on my own

im going to be making a new discussion to copy and paste this into so other people can learn it too

thx you so much for this guide I would say it's perfect and just what I needed, so basically I have to put the food with them like, "take some grapes you decide when to eat" for example Native 0 Bond lvl, 100 grapes, I put some grapes and the next day it increases it's bond lvl number till it reaches max limit as the day passes and I can use them as regular npc's is that right?

I literally did right right click in my inventory slot at a maxed character instead of dragging them and right click, hope this helps

Open up the NPC menu and click the 'move' button and move the territory slider all the way to the right.

I'm aware that this is a pretty late damn reply, but you can do this by clicking on the npc of your choice, then just right click your food item. your own hunger/thirst shouldnt be affected and to confirm you've fed your chosen npc, you can chech their stats to see if their hunger/thirst have changed. hope this helped :>
