Help with morale
I know there's a lot of people who asked this, but I haven't found a good answer.

How do I increase morale. or at least keep it from going negative? I have no girls that are hating each other anywhere near each other with location and territory not overlapping, yet they're still in negative. Nor are there any who dislike the personality of another in the area. I'm running out of them since I keep having to banish since stats suck and I don't feel like constantly having to knock them out for them to start attacking again.

Also, do they attack the npc they love most? I think i noticed this happening. They don't attack the person they hate, its's the person they love most.

Regarding morale, is EVERYONE negative? I only just checked morale and anyone who isn't around people they hate is 12~80 morale.

I have a mini-community (my true home) by the south mining cave and they're all at 100, but they all get along SUPER well. However, it's my large farming community that's struggling.

Beyond personalities, I'm not sure what else it could be? I feed my mini-com roasted legs since I presume the morale-loss disappears once it enters the food bin. Meanwhile, my farming community has a food rep putting morale+ carrots into the bin and chaos ensues?

Hmm.......

Regarding the 'attack'

Is the person being attacked an unrequited love-interest of the attacking individual?

I just had that happen, and thinking on the context of the game I feel like it was a 'forced advance' if you will. Maybe looking too far with little evidence atm, but perhaps the low-morale is also contributing since my attacker is at -80 while my recipient was at -12?

On a slightly related note, does MC morale affect anything? I try to eat carrots to remain above negative but its an arduous task.

Beds? Food? Water? are these perimeters met? in extreme cases you can build tents over the beds and allow them to enter and exit houses. (Having a bed with shelter allows the player to sleep to pass time, in general beds can also restore your white hearts on the HP bar)

If you need to restore Moral you can feed them carrots for 1 moral. but it's probably best to sort out the source of the loss rather than use carrots as a solution.

I haven't had any problems with them attacking anyone specifically but when their moral drops low enough they just attack anything.

Usually the largest offenders are the messages that appear in your log. If it's unrequited love you should consider having them both access to the same bed. Maybe even attempt to have them share likes of personality. I haven't monitored it but i bet them having sex also boosts moral.

As far as I know I have beds, food box, and well so...

I do get that message every now and then. I have beds just in the open rn till I can craft more beds and shelter for my npcs. I have ONE house for me with all my benches. All my native girls are negative and doesn't show they hate anyone, yet it's negative. The circles of them overlap with the food and well

You can try using the Talk option that is under Move and they might also tell you what their problem is.

Do your villagers really attack anything? OP mentioned unrequited love-interests and that's also my exclusive problem for my 2 offenders. The personalities are a one-sided miss-match. Seems to be the cause, but 2 isn't great numbers for evidence.

Regarding unrequited love, my mini-com has my most love-filled relationship but they also live in separate buildings with their locations hardly overlapping so I don't think beds have much to do with it nor does location seem to be an issue as long as they're close enough to interact. Heck, they run out of their location circles to fool around where it's quiet. Crazy citters, these natives.

Ya i actually don't know. I'm going to do some observation work. I planted a shower near by. I almost wonder if they care about decor such as chairs or blankets. Maybe i should go as far as to open up distant test groups with personalities and various stuff like showers or guillotines. Maybe have people they hate on a hanging post. Do the fallout vaults experience.

My moral right is now mostly neutral with 1 is -90 and 2 with +80. None of which i have fed carrots.

Also i double check the talk thing. you get the same info from mousing over their relations. So it's kinda just fluff.

1. you should know how to set npc location first so they can access everything listed below
2. a house with beds in it. If it works you will see npc sleep there at night
3. build afood box and have a npc assigned "food" job to auto fill it. You can fill food box yourself too by clicking it and right click food in your inventory and see the numbers goes up
4. A well for water or at least a rain collector

Ah, thanks bebe. I'll try the shelter and beds now.

Yep Shelter and beds. I found strange happenings.

Working lowers moral over time.
Sex raises moral by 1
Night passes while in a house raises moral by 10.

If they aren't set to move any distance (Stationary) their moral won't go up or down.

The personality system feels inconsequential. I bunked someone with someone they like and the only time moral raised was only when they had sex.

I had about 6 workers and 1 bed in the house and they all seemed to gain 10 moral.
_______
Seems before i tried when i never had a building for them to stay in at night they were just happy having sex.

I think this is affecting anyone following you as well even though they aren't performing the work.

I have two followers with None // Mining set for jobs and after almost half an in-game day I was left with

18 // -83 ---> 18 // -93

Setting my second partner to None has resolved this issue
Do ammenities like pillories and showers or bathtubs help inc morale?

Does putting food in the food box get rid of moral boosts and penalties?
