Were can i make a knife. and what do you do first. explore, make a camp....

You'll make the knife after obtaining the workbench recipe. You obtain this very early by completing a daytime event somewhere across the eastern river near your start.

What do do first? Gather materials and make a base. I also recommend building cages and clubbing some natives so you can begin the long process of taming them.

Knife is made from the "Mens Workbench" which is after defeating a boss east of the beach spawn. If you think you need it for cutting body parts you actually use the Wood cutting axes. The knife is used for breasts and "Pipe". or a quick melee weapon.

I would recommend the basics but this is also what i would do. Explore for Berry bushes and keep the stack with you. Gather wood and stone. Gather Plant fibre and sticks. set out 2-3 cage traps back at base. Make a wooden sword. Kill stuff for EXP. either go for Iron or start on followers.

Iron can be found in either of 2 caves. 1: Spider Cave to the north west. 2: Iron cave across a river to the North East. (Enter and exit the cave to re-spawn ore nodes)

Followers/Friends build an iron cage or go for a wood cage(If i haven't went for iron). Use meat from the cage traps set earlier to start recruitment of follower. Then i would acquire a local native girl from a camp by changing to the Male MC and sneaking in a night fall when they are asleep and using the R key to stun them(If they are asleep they don't resist).

Work on more iron or start iron. Make shovels and build a Well for water for my villagers. Make food box and beds for villagers. Take 2 hours to learn how villagers work. Make Bear traps that don't work on bears.
Start killing bosses and exploring the game.

Stone from pebbles.
Stone axe for more wood
Stone pick for more stone and metal from rocks with crystals or the mine right side of island.

Build an ore smelter to get iron
Make iron tools and weapons

Knife you need to kill a boss i believe.

Just gather wood and stone to lvl up
Lvl up speed and attack to lvl 10 then health. F hard bash then run away. Or block with a shield m2 right mouse click.

Then go from there.

Faint or knockout natives
Cage and put food to befriend them
Put them to work for more resources.

Eventually they will lvl up and you can use minions aka befriended natives but easier to by then just solo enemies p much one shotting most skinny men and 3 shotting big guys.
