Thanks, do you know how to assign npc to work? whenever I drop them they are like stunned, just laying on the floor

If they are stunned you are probably dragging and dropping from your inventory.
Instead right click them from your inventory.

If that doesn't work you should place them in a cage with grilled meat, Once the number 0 reaches 100 you should be able to right click them from your inventory.

talk to them and have them follow you (Optional)
Then talk to them and select move and set where their territory is and use the territory slider.
Go to their status page and find the Order tab on the left of the window and read the job info on what you need for the job as well as selecting the job.
If following tell them to unfollow.
Also get a food box ,water well and beds withing their territory for them to use.
