How do you get iron?

I seem to only get it from killing natives.

Mine iron ore, the rocks with things poking out are iron deposits. Also a iron cave near the old fat man boss

there is an iron cave to the right side of the map across the river. Not much inside except some bats and giant anglers that are very slow. You'll get all the iron you need just make sure to take enough pickaxes.

Also the cave which is your access to the north west area of the map. It's the spider cave left of the camp in the middle with the native boss.

Natives drop it,
various cave & mines
enemy's & chest in the ruins
iron rocks in the world similar like stone rocks, you need a pickaxe

any rocks with silver crystals will give iron

you get with a pickaxe at least stone to mine takes like 10 whacks until you mine them.

you can find a ton inside the north and south mines on the right and middle of the map (above the village fighting arena to the right until you see a dark hole)

you get iron ore

to get iron ingots you need to smelt them in a furnace that you craft from your default crafting screen with 50 stone.

to smelt place the iron ore into the furnace slots or any buildings that will be for storage for craft stations like the cloth station or spider wardrobe

then to craft place in any craft station or craft storages or default inventory if you're crafting using your main craft hud.


you can also find iron ore / ingots in native villages inside the crates barrels or the villagers themselves when killed can drop ore / ingots (usually higher lvl or big natives).
You can also find iron ore / ingots in the ruins once you unlock them in the ruin chests along with gold ore / ingots and diamonds.

gold ore you can find in the north mine and follows same rules as iron ore (and where to find them on higher lvl enemies / natives / ruins)
