Crafting tables/campfires requires the materials to be in that boxs inventory in order to craft. You can have all the materials on you to craft a sword; but if you dont put them in the box to craft, you cant craft it. You can offset that by using buildings like cloth storage to store the materials instead of chests, though idk if there is a limit to how many can be used per table.
You will want to lvl both the man and woman as there are areas that only one or the other can enter. Str and spd are more important that health as you can duke enemies to avoid their attacks.
then craft a stone axe pickaxe and wooden chests to place your loot
then chop down wood with the axe and mine rocks with pickaxe.
craft a wooden workbench and put wood and junk in there to craft a wooden spear
hunt animals from the opp side they're seeing for deer and rabbits and press F to heavy attack. Collect hides and craft some flags and save rest for later as well as cook the meat.
craft water pouches and bowls. Use the bowls by filling with water in a water source and boil in the campfire to make it drinkable.
lvl up then head to the right follow the mountain range up north until you see a hole it's a cave
it's the southern mine mine iron there
kill the bats mine ore. You can go in and out to reset the ore rocks (also enemies)
build a furnace to put the ores in and smelt into ingots
upgrade to iron tools and make an iron pot
use the pouches by filling with water and boil in a campfire with the pot
from there head to the left side of the map to the spider cave and fight the spider boss. Probably the easiest boss to gain access to the middle and northern parts of the map.
you can refight that boss too to grind stuff.
get the blueprints and craft spider workbench with cobwebs and spider scales as materials for stuff.
craft wardrobes and put any crafting items near the crafting stations and now you can craft stuff without moving stuff from one workbench to the other.
make a well and now you'll have an unlimited source of water anywhere in the world can be placed
same with a food box it'll fill you up 100% and not waste food.
you can cheese lvl up by focusing on one person the man or yona (MCs) and then saving all the dropped xp fruit once they stop giving you a lot of xp (little for you a lot for the lower lvl MC)
tips:
-invest heavily into heavy attack in skills to brute force your way
-invest into strength and speed with a little extra health. If you lvl up the strength and speed along with heavy attack you'll become a war horse and 1-2 shot most enemies with heavy attack on F on most weapons
-avoid capturing natives until you get a to iron tools. Makes it easier to faint them and you'll have a high strength. Plus the resources to tame them and make housing beds wells and food boxes as well as filling food boxes.
-female npcs can use bows male npcs can use melee weapons. Arrows are unlimited.
-place walls around your fortress (you can move it later on but for now chose somewhere nearby or place a red flag in it) along with spikes and it'll p much kill most low lvl enemies animals and npcs.
-once you get a high strength speed and heavy attack skills up you can grind the angler (purple glowing no eye cave creatures) and they'll lvl you up quite a lot. They respawn once you go in and out of the cave meaning you can grind to like lvl 30-45 with just killing them with heavy attacks on an iron sword
-avoid placing more than 4 npcs together especially don't if their personalities conflict. Try to keep to 2 and place one on food gathering duty and another at a work station along with a house / native hut and 1 bed each or 2 leaf huts to save on resources as well as a food box with food and a well.
1. Flags. You can make a flag by hunting down a few animals and picking up a few sticks. When exploring, put flags near everything interesting.
You can teleport to your base for free, and to all other flags for some food from your stomach. Teleporting will save you a lot of effort and a lot of pointless fights.
2. I recommend the following weapon progression: stone axe (hand-crafted), spear (wood workbench), iron sword (iron workbench), battle axe (elder brother native), katana (looted in dungeons). By the time you have katana, you're no longer in "getting started".
3. There are 2 caves that are good for mining iron in the starting region. Find them, and put flags near them. Or even inside them.
Note that caves reset every time you enter them. so each of them can yield infinite number of iron.
4. Don't hesitate to upgrade your tools. Not only better tools have better durability, they also need less swings to take down a rock or a tree. So after a good run on a cave, the first thing you should get is an iron pickaxe to make the next run easier.
5. Don't worry about the raids at first, the most they can do is kill you, and you'll revive immediately. When you'll get villagers, they have a chance of getting abducted by raiders, so you probably should put that off until you can take on a level 1 raid.
Villagers in "survivor" mode are pretty safe too, but you will still need to take out the raid somehow.
6. Traps (wood and iron) are probably the best building after wells. They provide you with plenty of meat to eat, and you can find other uses for animals, like organizing a chicken coop to have a lot of eggs.
Wells take a lot of iron, so you should build a raincatcher first. They only fill with water during a rain, but they will keep you hydrated without the need of complicated maneuvers like boiling water.
By the way, you can fill your water containers from wells. Probably from raincatchers too.
But in the beginning, you should just use berries to get hydrated on long expeditions.
7. Healing (at least 1 level) is the best skill you can have at the start. Harvest is the second best, the more the better.
And carrying will really help you once you start populating your village. Get to the level where you can teleport while carrying at least one victim. Hint: you can actually get yourself killed with victim(s) in your inventory to teleport to base even when you shouldn't be able to do so.
8. Most crops aren't particularly useful, so you can put them off for later. Three are important for your development: Corn is needed for chicken coops and a few other agricultural recipes, and its seeds drop from natives. Wheat is needed for female manjuu (okay, that is probably not as important unless you play with some self-imposed challenges), and drops from chickens. And finally soy, for which you will need to hunt birds (probably with a bow), as soy flour is a component in a few important recipes, such as healing potions and pregnancy potions.
9. Speaking of healing potions, herbs are a low-tech equivalent. Eating one restores 10 hitpoints, even though it's not written on them.
10. Capturing villagers is best done at night. If you sneak into a tent, you will have to fight 1 or at most 2 of them. And male MC can just r*** them without bothering to fight.
11. Easiest boss is the middle-aged man to the east. He pretty much knocks himself out so that you can beat him for a while before he recovers.
Spider boss in one of the iron caves (the one with the spiderwebs) is not too hard, and it hides the secret of spider storage - a great way to organize your industry. You should probably fight it sooner rather than later.
Some people swear by knocking out and taming the bigfoot to the west, and making him guard your camp. He hits like a truck, but if you can learn his patterns, it should be doable. Bring at least an iron mace.
12. You can defeat most enemies by running past them, turning around and stabbing them in the back. For animals that flee, you should maneuver to get behind their back before they notice you, and stab them in the back too.
That's enough tipping for now.
