The food job doesn't seem to need anything else aside from the food box itself, your villager will restock the foodbox magically, but the job itself is quite slow... When i was using it a few weeks back, it seemed to restore about 1-3 points to the food box per instance of the jobs, so usually, those points were used almost immediately, you may need ot put more NPC on the job per box to have a self sufficient food box.
Okay that makes sense now I thought they had to pull food from another source. Okay so I probable had to many people for one person to do and need to add a couple then. thank you
then put food right click again
it should go up
you can put stuff like carrots and junk will add buffs / debuffs
you can also assign friendlies to gather food near the box and they'll keep it refilled meaning once you fill it up to say 500-600 it should fill up slowly and never decrease provided you have enough people on it and not a few that others will eat from it and then just take more than can get refilled.
alternatively it caps at a hard 1k and doesn't lower much after it shouldn't go down after having enough npcs on it
