I'm convinced this is a red herring

Everything screams Kingdom Hearts 4 / FF Versus XIII beyond the characters, setting, style, where even Yoko Shimamura and Kazushige Nojima are directly involved. There's even already a crossover with The World Ends With You and the game's not even out yet. C'mon.

Once the main character lit up he looked as much like Yozora as humanly possible without being Yozora. Same colors, same style of clothes, same weapon glow, it's just too much. Because of all the similarities I'm left thinking the purpose of this title is to either straight up surprise people with a Verum Rex game with an engine change and model changes before release (or something to that effect), or it's to test out concepts and ideas that would be in Verum Rex or Kingdom Hearts 4 that might be considered risky unless it's tested first.

Not to mention the title Reynatis is said in an interview to mean rebirth as well as king and birth, with Verum Rex meaning true king... it's just too much.

Even if the game is just it's own title with a lot of confusing similarities, I am looking forward to the release. That said, there's just too many things suggesting there's a lot more going on here, to the point that it would be super illogical to release such a similar game with such major contributors like Nojima and Shimamura for example -- it's too illogical for it to be a completely separate game, it would be the same people competing against themselves. I would be shocked at this point if it turned out to be not a red herring for Verum Rex or KH4.

Umm read interviews they drew their inspiration for the game from those exact titles. They even felt Verum Rex shouldve been made into a game and this was their vision of that game.

They're already doing that for KH4. Why would the main writer and composer for Kingdom Hearts make a second game based on Versus XIII / Verum Rex? Makes zero sense.

If this is their vision of that game, I'd like to know what they think about KH's combat. I mean, I know they can't just lift from that cutscene, and this game is fine, but this is nothing compared to Kingdom Hearts.

This game is pretty far from KH or VR or V13. It was just some Youtubers who overhyped the hell out it. As for the people working on the game, people work on 100s of games that are completely different.
