Yeah, Starlancer had great atmosphere and awesome pre rendered cutscenes for navigating around the carrier on foot.
There is this awesome mission near the end where your carrier duels with its Russian rival that I still remember to this day. There are so many torpedos and fighters I remember oftern crashing into torpedoes fired from Russian/Coalition bombers.
Yeah that is true but most missions play along on a tight script so squadron wingmen are just for show. I dont think they actually do anything.
FS2 also has a better plot, though it's more impersonal. If you liked Starlancer, you'll love FS2.
(And, of course, FS2 has an amazing mod scene and a powerful mission editor.)
In retrospect, yeah it is. But I was just a kid back in 1999 and didnt really take note of such things.
