Freespace 2 and screen optimization error and windows 10

Cannot see the screen in full. The notification pops up.

Optimal resolution notification.

Appears after the beginning screen intro. I see the interplay logo in full screen, the animated cut scenes. When the game starts to play this is when the nofication pops up and the screen becomes smaller.

This is what i have tried so far.

Turned off the notifcation in settings - notifications and actions - igfxEM toggled to off.

No longer see the notification but screen still shrinks.

did not work

Googled the problem

steam freespace windows 10 optimization notification

changed drivers - intel HD 520

did not work.

Unchecked the disable full screen optimizations on the exe in the progam folder

did not work

other programs like Xwing and Xcom running in steam not affected. They run smoothly.

So the question is now how do i turn off the screen optimization for this one game?

I will reinstall it and see if this helps.

Any advice would be appreciated.

Where you disabled fullscreen optimizations - below that there's a box - change high DPI settings, did you tick both boxes in there ?

And disable full screen optimizations should be ticked - you said you unchecked it.

Also for this to work you must be in fullscreen mode not borderless window.

After much fiddling I changed the scale and layout to 100%

Works with display resolution of 1920 X 1080

Graphics card is Intel HD 520 - up to 6208 Mb Dynamic Video Memory
