Descent 1 or 2?

I loved these games growing up and I'm wondering what the differences are between them. Not sure which is considered better. Does one have a better single player campaign? Does one have better multiplayer?

When it gets right down to it, it's up to personal preference :) D1 has better Multiplay and D2 has better Single Player in my opinion. Also, some weapons were nerfed in D2 that were stronger in D1, so there's that. But again, it's personal preference :D

I liked playing D2 multiplayer better. I liked the light killing metagame and using shadows to my advantage (and given the ship is gray there's a nice stealth factor to it all)


then again I last did all that in 1996 and now I feel very old bringing that up. :(

Yeah, it's amazing that all of us that grew up with it are in our 30s or older.

Single player is defenitely Descent 1 & 2. Descent 3 had a really uninspiring single player campaign, but it had BY FAR the best multiplayer experience for me.
