Yes, we recommend FBX or OBJ. We don't have plans to support .blend.

Hey, you need to makes sure that you mesh has UVs, and then you can export you mesh as an fbx

so is Collada and FBX, and Lightwave Object, all of which Blender can export.

It supports about 20 other formats too.

i tried to import my lxo file as mesh. log says "[Scene 3D] Failed to load 3D scene.". i converted it to fbx. i saw geometry using this fbx. it shows geometry as polygons, in fbx it is Catmull-Clark

Ok, so if I import an .obj all is fine, if I import an .fbx, only one of the UV maps bakes textures and assigns them correctly, but any additional UV maps bakes textures but doesn't assign them as
Input Images and if you try to drag and drop them to any of the "Additional maps" slots in the TextureSet settings tab, SP consistently crashes. There must be some settings when converting to FBX that are

I'm using Maya 2013, with the FBX Plug-in 2013.1 (release 180734). But I have the version set to be compatible with FBX 2011.
I've tried switching the compatibility settings to 2010-2013 but I get
except for the object, but got the same error.

EDIT: I did try a DAE_FBX export and that works with the 2013.1 version, just not the standard FBX.

Cant blender save to fbx or wavefront obj? I don't see any problem with using those formats, it's what I export from 3ds max

You don't need to import an image of your unwrap, simply import the FBX file when creating a new project in Painter once it's been unwrapped.

1. colt1911.fbx (this file got some issue with the material so although i can import it to SP but i dont use it
