what is the fbx setting for 3dsmax so that multiple object can be saved as one fbx file and detected in substance painter as different texture sets?

found the answer after trial and error :p

You need to asign a different material for each object in 3dsmax so that substance painter could detect it as a different texure sets.

theres a problem after that tho, once you edit each texture set there's no way of joining them as one, thats where im having issues right now, some have said that you can do this in substance designer but i'm still learning and trying to figure that out.

HI,

I would say the workaround would be to have multiple meshes, but in the 3D app, make sure that the UVs don't overlap. So if you were to selected all of the meshes, you would see that all of the UVs fit as if they were one object.

Cheers,

Wes
